At our core, we are a group of dedicated researchers from across the Mississippi River Basin. We work directly with communities through a U.S. National Science Foundation Estab­lished Program to Stim­u­late Com­pet­i­tive Research (EPSCoR) grant that allows us to meet communities where they are to help build a more resilient future.

Our goal is to support communities that are prepared for and can adapt in the face of changing climates.

Though we are spread throughout the Midwest and South, the Mississippi River Basin ties us all together.

In an era characterized by change, the research team found themselves thinking research and community partnerships are more important now than ever before. Our entire team is located somewhere in the Mississippi/Atchafalaya River Basin (MARB). The same Basin that connects us all is worth protecting, so that’s what we’re here to do.

The goal of this project is simple: help communities build climate resilience. We meet communities where they are and help them develop a plan to combat changing climates. Most importantly, we don’t tell community partners what to do; we ask them what they need and work closely with them to make their requests a reality.

We combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach with clear communication and reliable results. It’s not just what we do—it’s how we do it, and it starts with community partners.
